“My recent paintings address iconic imagery, high impact color, and the reduction of form. Texas has shaped my vision and character, and I feel blessed to call Austin my home.”

Christy Kale has exhibited in solo and group shows on a local, regional and national basis. She has served on the Visual Arts Peer Review Panel for Austin’s Art in Public Places program and written a column on local artists for The Austin Light.

Christy was born in Big Spring, Texas and spent her youth in Texas, Iceland, Germany and the east coast as part of a large military family. Her love of the Texas light and landscape is reflected in her colorful paintings of sky, water, flora and fauna. She also works in photography and mixed media.
