Christy Kale is a painter of iconic images in which she explores the intersection of reality and imagination. Her work is characterized by highly saturated color, a playful energy and a celebration of the natural world. Other interests include personal connection, portraits of family and friends, landscape/seascape imagery, dream imagery and the beauty of the Texas landscape. Oil painting has been her long time medium of choice. Over the past ten years she has expanded into stained glass mosaic work. She is also a gifted photographer.

Kale has exhibited widely on a local, regional and national basis. Her exhibition history speaks to her passion and concern with the causes of animal welfare and the environment. It also demonstrates a deep commitment to the art and music scene in Austin, Texas, her home for over 30 years.
